2020 Christmas Bureau Client Registration this year has begun. Registration is being done online due to the COVID19 pandemic. Full step by step instructions and a link to the registration application are available on our Register for Help page. After you submit an application for assistance, your application will be reviewed by our team of volunteers and you will be notified of the decision via email – that email will include a link to a calendar site where you can book your pick up time (unless you opted to participate in Adopt a Family, in which case your hampers and toys will be delivered by your sponsor.). Please folks, do not call in to check on the status of your application, our reception volunteers do not have access to that information.
Our Adopt a Family program is active this year, sponsors interested in participating should fill out their sponsor application form on the Adopt a Family page here. As soon as we have found a match, you will be contacted with the family details.
DONATION DROP OFFS: Drop offs to Surrey fire halls begin November 2020. PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING GUIDANCE REGARDING COVID PROTOCOLS AT SURREY FIRE HALLS:
Surrey Christmas Bureau –
Fire Hall Toy Drop Off COVID-19 Safe Drop Off Procedures
The Surrey Fire Service is once again pleased to partner with the Surrey Christmas Bureau to assist with the collection of toys and goods for needy families in Surrey. To ensure the safety of fire department staff and members of the public when dropping off toys and goods for the Surrey Christmas Bureau, please follow the below procedure:
Members of the public are requested to wear masks when interacting with fire department staff. Firefighters will be wearing masks.
- Please knock or ring the fire hall doorbell and then back up a minimum of 4m (12 feet).
- On-duty firefighters will answer the door and will place the donation box outside 2m (6 feet) from the door and the public before backing up.
- Donated toys and goods are to be placed in the box by the public dropping them off.
- Once the donation is complete, firefighters will bring the collection box back inside the fire hall.
Please note that if the firefighters do not answer the door, it means they are not in the fire hall. Toys and goods should not be left outside fire halls, as their security cannot be maintained, which may result in them not ending up donated as intended. If the firefighters are not in the hall, please consider stopping by later.
Donations to the Toy Depot Location: The 2020 Toy Depot is located at 13853 – 104 Avenue, Surrey, BC (the former Funky Monkey Play Centre). Donations can be dropped off starting Tuesday, November 3, 2020. Open for donations Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00am – 4:00pm. (Closed Remembrance Day). PLEASE NOTE: due to COVID19 protocols, we cannot accept any clothing (new or used) or any used items at all this year. Thank you for your understanding.
To give is to gain.
Our community certainly gains a lot every Christmas, thanks to you!
